We think Beyoncé is getting a little jealous of our style crush on her sister Solange Knowles. Okay, probably not, but the superstar has been cribbing her baby sis’s love for prints, and we have the photos to prove it.

Yesterday, Queen Bey stepped out in this bright-colored tropical printed skirt which she paired with a loose black tank, chic flat sandals, round sunnies and black bowler hat, which hasn’t left her head in quite some time. Certainly her style has come a long way from her Destiny’s Child days, and we kind of love that she’s embracing her trendy, hipster side.

But does it remind us a little too much of another hipster we love? Bey’s latest look gave us déja vu for another Knowles ensemble: Solange’s hibiscus-printed J. Crew bottom, white loose top and almost identical eye wear that she wore to Coachella back in April.

Beyoncé’s little sis has long loved to step out in head-turning patterns. Case in point: this, and this, and this. And we can’t say we’d blame Beyoncé for tearing a page out of her printed playbook!

Are you sitting down? Good, because we have some paradigm-shifting news for you: It appears that Beyoncé has cut off all her hair.

We’ve seen the superstar with pretty much every hairstyle (wigs included) under the sun, from blonde to brunette and waves to braids. But with the exception of the short wig she wore to play Etta James in Cadillac Records, she’s never had hair above her chin — until now.

And in a series of Instagram photos she posted late Wednesday night, her new look appears to be the real deal. A close-up shot shows the wispy new layers framing her face; in other pics, Beyoncé appears to still be getting used to the new do, touching the nape of her neck tenatively.

A practical mom-on-the-go do decision? A “hipster in Brooklyn” move of shear genius? The work of someone tired of wearing a full head of hair all the time — or just a trick with a really good wig? Only time will tell. But with plenty of tour dates on her Mrs. Carter Show tour left to go, we look forward to seeing what she’ll be whipping around the stage should this cut be permanent.

When Beyoncé posted the cut seen ’round the world on Instagram last night, there was one person more shocked than most: Her stylist Kim Kimble.

Kimble, the star of We TV’s L.A. Hair and Beyoncé’s longtime stylist, had drawn up a whole hair concept for a video they were shooting together this weekend — and now she has to go back to the drawing board.

“I had a whole plan laid out … I wanted to do a retro ‘50s type of hair. I feel like there’s going to be a meeting soon!” she tells PEOPLE, laughing. “It won’t be the long, wavy, typical hair, but I’m really excited to do something different. No matter what, she knows I’ll give her what she wants!”

Kimble says her reaction upon seeing the new do on Instagram Wednesday night was more than surprised — it was emotional. “I got a little teary eyed!” she confesses. “I’ve been working for her so long, she has this beautiful long hair and it’s hard to grow hair out. I feel like it’s my hair, I work so much with her. I feel a little emotional but excited for her too. Maybe I’ll cut my hair off now. Short hair, don’t care!”

And despite many commenters speculating Beyoncé just removed her weave or extensions, Kimble says, “She had great, thick long hair, which she cut off because she’s ready to make a statement. It’s a great [one] to make: I’m beautiful, sexy, bold and I can do it all. She’s the perfect model for that: A working woman, mom, superstar, businesswoman. She’s powerful in herself. “

So what does Kimble have in mind for this particular superstar at Saturday’s video shoot? She’s still working on the concept, but she’s excited to experiment with the star’s new “easy, effortless style” — whether she plays up her natural curls or goes for something more sleek — and she plans to experiment with grooming creams, waxes and her own shine serum.

But regardless of what anyone else thinks of the style (and we’re loving it!) “It had to be her decision,” Kimble says. “This was a big step, and it’s perfect timing.” For lots more of Kimble’s high-profile hair clients, watch L.A. According to Beyoncé, girls run the world. But lets be real: Her hair runs our world.

One week after cutting off all her long blond waves into a bleach-blonde pixie cut (and igniting #shorthairdontcare fever), the singer has switched up her look once again. And the latest is totally different than any style we’ve seen on the star: an inverted bob. (The Bey Bob? The Boboncé? We’re still working on a name. Stay tuned.)

When Beyoncé chopped off her long waves, we had to wonder where it ended up (a charity? A museum? In a box to the left?). Well, we’re wondering no more because the case of Queen Bey’s missing mane has been solved! It appears the honey-blonde strands have relocated to Lady Gaga’s head.

We thought we’d seen Lady Gaga’s hair in almost every color, style and shape under the sun–she’s done it all from a hair bow to an aquamarine beehive and a floor-length ponytail—but we were wrong.

She’d never rocked the Beyoncé.

Mother Monster debuted this latest hairstyle in N.Y.C. on Tuesday while promoting her new single Applause and we’d give her Beyoncé-esque do a standing ovation. It probably took numerous bottles of hair spray for her to achieve these voluminous, serpentine curls, but we think it was worth it. (Plus, maybe she’ll hang on to all those empty cans and use them for a red carpet dress.)

Dear Madonna‘s Grill,

When you first came into our lives on Instagram two months ago, we didn’t hate you (even though Madge instructed us to do just that with the caption “Dont hate me. Hate my #grilz”).

Her lashes and bright pink lip were just so fiercely on point in that photo, we hardly even noticed your golden glare all over her top teeth.

But then she took you out for another spin in Rome on Wednesday with your friends the fingerless leather biker gloves and black peek-a-boo lace bra shirt and we’re sorry, we just could not get into the groove.

So listen up, Madonna’s grill. We want you to leave our 55-year-old Queen of Pop alone and go hang around with pop stars who don’t remind us of Amy Poehler’s “cool mom” character in Mean Girls when they wear you.

The stars at the VMAs gave us plenty to talk about Sunday night with their predictably over-the-top style, but as it turns out, three of our favorite looks didn’t make it to the red carpet at all.

In fact, two of these stars (Jessica Biel and Beyoncé) kept a low profile until the afterparty, while Rihanna changed out of the jeans and tee she wore to the show into something a little saucier. And leave it to this mega-watt LBD brigade to top our best-dressed list despite their late entries.

Biel may have stayed out of sight while husband Justin Timberlake had a buzzy reunion with his ‘NSYNC bandmates, but there was no missing her in this sheer lace Dolce & Gabbana dress worn over a bra and briefs. She added strappy heels, drop earrings and a rich pink lip.

Beyoncé also opted for something a little revealing for her big reveal: A fitted black sheath with sheer panels down the side, plus Brian Atwood heels and the massive bling she’s known for.

And finally, Rihanna’s sizzling LBD, with some sexy chain-mail-inspired jewelry and strappy black heels, was the very definition of “guy hot,” and a fun complement to the more low-key look she wore earlier in the evening.

The blonde bombshell nabbed the number one spot in a flowy red chiffon spaghetti strap dress that she belted at the waist and paired with snakeskin ankle strap heels and a coordinating snakeskin clutch at the Los Angeles Food & Wine Festival. The actress’s classic red dress garnered nearly 26,000 votes, packing enough of a punch to beat out the superstar songstress’s body-hugging black dress with cut-out panels along the sides that she complimented with a whole lot of Lorraine Schwartz bling and sky-high platform heels at a post-VMAs party (earning 21,000+ votes).

Trailing close behind Beyoncè’s number two spot is Ali Larter again (how greedy!), earning over 21,000 “Love it” votes in a strapless Marchesa floral-print peplum dress that she wore to a party celbrating the release of her cookbook Kitchen Revelry in West Hollywood.

When Beyoncé unveiled dramatically short hair on her Instagram a few months ago, reactions ranged from elation to total outrage. Everyone seemed to have an opinion on it (for the record, ours was positive!).

And proving that her mantra is “any length hair, don’t care,” the superstar has been switching things up ever since, sporting an inverted bob, loose shoulder-length waves and everything in between.

Hopefully you didn’t get too attached to her more laid-back look, however, because the star’s diva hair is back and it’s spectacular. She could be seen sporting her most familiar hairstyle — long blonde curls — as she boarded a plane in Puerto Rico (though her travel socks, rather than six-inch heels, are certainly foreign to Beyoncé fans).

Sasha Fierce. Glitzy costumes. Crazy footwear. Queen Bey has built up a bit of a diva rep in the past. But recently, Beyoncé‘s been giving off a more laid back, hippie vibe.

And we’re not talking about her new vegan eating habits. We’re talking about her style. The singer shared some intimate snapshots from her recent Jamaican vacation on her blog, and it looks like she traded in her traditional high glam for low-key, hipster-inspired looks, as seen in the above photos. Seriously, we might have to invest in a high-waisted bathing suit like that.
