BUZZ: Is Beyoncé the New Face of H&M?

Beyonce
ASNY/SDFL/Splash News Online

If the rumors on Twitter are true, Queen Bey can add yet another line to her already very long and impressive résumé: star of an H&M campaign.

People have been abuzz ever since images of Beyoncé on the set of what appears to be a photo shoot in the Bahamas emerged early Thursday morning.

In the snaps, the superstar is seen sitting in a pink beach chair wearing a tropical-print bustier, a yellow flower in her hair and a red lip (left) — and fans are convinced it’s for an upcoming H&M ad.

Here’s why: Reportedly, one of Beyoncé’s dancers Tweeted: “First day of trial in the Bahamas! H&M all set … go,” E! Online’s Latin America outlet shares. (The Tweet has since been deleted.)

PEOPLE reached out to H&M for comment, but a representative for the brand would neither confirm nor deny anything.

We’re crossing our fingers that it’s true since this would be something of a style match made in heaven; after all, Bey is one of our favorite fashion-forward stars and H&M is one of our favorite affordable retailers.

And are we the only ones who think that the singer’s latest looks on Instagram have a bit of an H&M-esque vibe? Tell us: Would Beyoncé be a good choice for H&M? If not, which celeb should the brand choose to front its next campaign?

Friday Flashback: Beyoncé and the Ladies of Destiny’s Child

As soon as we heard the news that Destiny’s Child will be releasing an album on Jan. 29, our first thoughts were, puh-lease let them go on tour and puh-lease let them do it in those amazing coordinating outfits they used to wear. You know, the ones that look like this:

Destiny's ChildWireimage(2)

However, Beyoncé, Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland have come a long way since the matchy-matchy, Tina Knowles-designed, over-the-top ensembles they rocked back at the Source Hip-Hop Music Awards in 2000 (left) and at the MTV Icon: Janet Jackson event in 2001 (right).

And though we can’t imagine any of them ever wearing shredded flare jeans held together with safety pins and belly chains these days, one thing most definitely has not changed: Bey and crew are still pushing the envelope with their style. And their bodies are still as bootylicious as they were a decade ago.

So, are we holding our breath in hopes that the trio will bring back bikini tops with bedazzled bottoms and sandals, or that they’ll hit the stage in Hawaiian-print bra tops with flares and matching glittery pointy-toe pumps? No. But we’d put good money on Destiny’s Child stepping out at least once in 2013 in coordinating outfits that will leave jaws on the floor. And yes, we’re ready for that jelly. Tell us: What do you think about Destiny’s Child’s old-school looks?

Yes, You Can Own a Wedding Dress Once Worn by Beyoncé

Beyonce Wedding Dress

Face it, Beyoncé-loving brides: You’re probably not going to get the superstar to RSVP to your wedding — but you can walk down the aisle in a gown she once wore.

The opulent Baracci wedding dress Beyoncé donned in her 2011 “Best Thing I Never Had” music video just surfaced on preownedweddingdresses.com this week, for the Hollywood price of $30,000 (a big markdown from the original $85,000 fee).

An off-white sweetheart ball gown with flecks of gold, the hand-draped double silk size 4 creation is embroidered with French lace and covered with hand-sewn Swarovski pendants and crystals. According to the preownedweddingdresses.com blog, Beyoncé “reportedly stumbled on the dress while walking by the designer’s Beverly Hills boutique, and asked to wear it in her video.”

The opulent gown is seemingly a far cry from the simpler white dress Beyoncé wore to her own wedding in 2008, a look she shared a peek of in her 2011 “I Was Here” video (the girl certainly had a thing for bridal wear that year, eh?).

No word on who’s selling the gown — a friend, the designer or Beyoncé herself — but we imagine it smells just like the sexy singer. Tell us: Would you buy a wedding gown once worn by a star? How much would you pay for it?

Michelle Obama‘s elegant Inauguration outfit had everyone buzzing, but when Beyoncé took the stage to sing the “Star Spangled Banner” — wearing 130 carats of emeralds that could be seen from the back row in the crowd of 800,000 – she practically broke Twitter.

Queen Bey donned unbelievable 80-carat emerald earrings and a 50-carat emerald ring, both by Lorraine Schwartz. She paired the stunners with a black chiffon-and-velvet Emilio Pucci gown, plus an additional pop of color via her fluorescent tangerine mani. (And since we’re guessing you’re not ready to spring for those gems, you can nab the exact nail polish she wore, NCLA Nail Lacquer in I’m With The Band, for just $16.)

Kelly ClarksonKelly Clarson

But Beyoncé wasn’t the sole diva in D.C. yesterday: Jennifer Hudson, Alicia Keys and Kelly Clarkson also showcased their killer pipes (and fit figures) in gorgeous black-tie attire.

Hudson, who sang “Let’s Stay Together” during the Obamas’ first dance at the inaugural ball, displayed her curves in a fitted black V-neck column, plus Amrapali bracelets, a Demarco ring, bombshell waves and a nude lip.

Keys also paid tribute to the President during the party, changing the lyrics to her hit “Girl on Fire” while wearing a long-sleeve sparkly red number with an open-back, a retro do and her own show-stopping gems.

And Clarkson, who sang during the ceremony at the Capitol, tweeted a shot of her evening ensemble: a floral strapless ball gown that was so voluminous it took up the entire backseat of her car. Now that’s a dress! Tell us: Which singer do you think had the best Inauguration day style?

Beyoncé practically crashed the Internet when she launched her Tumblr, froze our iPhones when she joined Instagram and now she’s taking her technological domination one step further thanks to her brand new lifestyle blog, BeyHive.

“The BeyHive blog is my way of showing all the inspiring things I come across every single day. This is through my eyes,” the singer wrote on her website on Tuesday. Divided into four sections, the superstar spotlights stuff she’s loving and things that inspire her, along with fan artwork. Her longtime stylist, Ty Hunter, also has his own street style section (think: The Sartorialist, but Beyoncé-approved).

And though BeyHive has only been live for 24 hours, we’ve already learned a few new things about Blue Ivy‘s mom: Her shoe closet is (probably) filled with Nicholas Kirkwood heels and lace-up basket-weave flats, and if her current movie pick is any indication, she and Jay-Z caught Argo during their last date night. Beyonce, Jennifer Lawrence Dresses
Don’t get us wrong: we appreciate a good neutral palette. But when 80% of this week’s “Most Loved Looks” are basic black-and-white, we start to doze off … and seeing a healthy dose of bold, bright winter citrus is as refreshing as a glass of lemonade in the summer.

So we’d like to extend extra credit to (from left) Beyoncé, Jennifer Lawrence and Amanda Seyfried for all opting to wear gorgeously juicy shades of orange in the last few days; they especially popped during a week when everyone played it safe.

Our favorite part is that all three stars showed that the tricky hue can look good against any skin tone, and can be appropriate everywhere from the office to a big night out. Beyoncé went sexy in a tomato Antonio Berardi sheath; Jennifer’s marigold Emilio Pucci was pretty and professional; and Amanda’s carrot-colored Roland Mouret number was dressy and glam. And all three women picked Jimmy Choo heels — maybe it’s the official shoe of fashion risk-takers?

Beyoncé’s Super Bowl Style With Destiny’s Child: Total Touchdown

$

One thing was certain going into Super Bowl XLVII: Beyoncé was going to put on a killer halftime show, and she was going to look amazing doing it. And if she practiced until her feet bled, there was no sign of it as she danced in her towering heels.

To strut out onstage during ‘Crazy In Love,’ the star wore a belted “liquid nylon” mini with a matching moto jacket by Rubin Singer, but she quickly tore it away to reveal a leather bodysuit with a black lace skirt (also by the designer) worn over her signature fishnets. She completed the look with thigh-highs and sexy black booties.

Destiny’s Child fans missing the trio’s epic matching outfits were given a treat when Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams proved the rumors true, joining Beyoncé onstage for a medley that included ‘Bootylicious’ and ‘Single Ladies.’ Their costumes echoed Bey’s: Rowland wore a revealing V-neck Emilio Pucci bodysuit, while Williams was glam in a tough-girl ribbed leather mini by Rubin Singer (who also created looks for all 120 backup dancers).

And to ensure that Beyoncé’s hair was supremely whip-able (as demonstrated during ‘Baby Boy’ and ‘Halo’), stylist Kim Kimble gave her a “soft glam” look by curling it, then brushing out the curls and smoothing them with Kimble Hair Care Brazilian Nut and Acai serum. She sprayed it with L’Oréal’s classic Elnett hairspray to ensure it wouldn’t budge no matter what the superstar put it through.

Three Things to Know About the Man Behind Beyoncé’s Super Bowl Look

$

Beyonce Super Bowl Halftime OutfitKevin Mazur/WireImage

After she sang the national anthem at a Super Bowl press conference on Thursday, Beyoncé asked, “Any questions?” Had the superstar asked the same thing after her incredible “not lip-synched” Super Bowl halftime performance Sunday night, we would have responded: “Just one: Who is responsible for that un-freaking-believable outfit?” The answer, it turns out, is not some household name couturier; it’s little-known designer Rubin Singer.

But we have a feeling Singer is about to become a household name thanks to the two looks he created for Beyoncé including a cropped moto jacket paired with a micro-mini wrap skirt made of nylon, metal, silk and plastic, which the star tore away mid-set to reveal a leather-and-lace bodysuit featuring python and iguana skin. (Oh yeah, and he also designed Michelle Williams’s killer getup and looks for the 120 backup dancers.)

Like most of the rest of the country, we can’t stop talking about what Singer created. So we did a little digging and uncovered three interesting tidbits about the designer. (Sorry, none of them are that he’s creating a diffusion line at Target … at least not yet!)

1. This wasn’t the first time he designed for Beyoncé.
Soon after launching his eponymous label in 2007, the 34-year-old met Beyoncé’s stylist, Ty Hunter. Since then he’s created several custom stage looks for the superstar. Most recently, he designed one of the sparkly bodysuits she wore for her New Year’s Eve concert in Las Vegas, and he was also responsible for the navy ball gown she donned for her July 4th performance in 2011, according to The New York Times.

2. He once worked for a big deal designer you’ve definitely heard of.
Singer is a third-generation couturier who lived in Russia and Paris before moving to New York, where he landed a gig as an associate designer for Oscar de la Renta. He was then named the head designer of three Bill Blass brands, and later he helmed the reins at Kai Milla, who has dressed Michelle Obama and Oprah Winfrey.

3. It took him more than 200 hours to create the Super Bowl halftime looks.
Back in November, Singer pitched Beyoncé’s stylists, Hunter and Raquel Smith, ideas from his fall 2013 collection, entitled, “Valkyrie’s Dominion.” The designs, inspired by a powerful female figure in mythology, fit perfectly with Beyoncé’s vision for the big show. So in early December the designer and his team of 14 began working on the pieces. More than 200 hours, two months and five fittings later, the jaw-dropping designs were finally complete.

The Four Most Surprising Looks at the Grammys

Confession: We were a little disappointed that so many stars actually followed the dress code at the Grammy Awards Sunday night. But even though it was a sea of black dresses and relatively demure looks, there were four ladies who still managed to turn our heads.

Rihanna: We did a double take when we spotted the Barbadian beauty in a wrapped-bodice Azzedine Alaïa creation, but not for the usual (read: revealing) reasons. The star was giving us mega Pon de Replay-era flashbacks between the romantic gown and long, ombré waves.

Beyoncé: She didn’t show up in a custom leather-and-lace onesie (sadly), but she did slip into something equally unexpected — a jumpsuit. The superstar went for a mod vibe in a black crepe design with white panel detailing by Osman, plus a sleek ponytail and red lips.

Adele: It’s as if she was reading our minds! After hitting the award show circuit in all black, Adele finally brightened up in a retro floral-print below-the-knee number by Valentino, paired with equally funky pumps.

Florence Welch: The singer usually opts for something flowy and ethereal, but Welch threw us a curveball, rocking a custom green Givenchy number with a high-slit and some pretty crazy dinosaur-like detailing, along with Sorellina rings.

Tell us: Which star’s style surprised you most?

Grammys’ Style Highs and Lows, According to Tom and Lorenzo

One of our favorite things about awards shows (besides our inter-office gown debate, of course) is seeing what style bloggers Tom and Lorenzo have to say about the red carpet. Always incisive and hilarious, they seem to be able to say what we’re thinking without even knowing we’re thinking it. And now the pair takes a break from their packed New York Fashion Week schedule to break down their take on last night’s Grammys style.

Below, they explain their four favorite (and one, er, swing and a miss) looks from the red carpet; roll over to see even more details.

Picture Group / Stipple
Rihanna in Azzedine Alaïa: “Sometimes its best to subvert people’s expectations and Rihanna
managed just that,” they said of the star’s “vibrant, attention-getting red gown that’s positively demure compared to a lot of her red carpet choices. Add some blown-out hair and she’s rocking some old-school pretty.”

Picture Group / Stipple
Beyoncé in Osman: “We will always salute a lady rocking ladypants on the red carpet, a venue that places a lot of pressure on ladystars to wear skirts,” they point out. “We like the boldness of the choice as well as the eye-catching — and trendy — black/white combo.”

Picture Group / Stipple
Florence Welch in Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci: “A slinky, sexy, strange lizard goddess gown. Only at the Grammys could you wear something like this,” Tom and Lorenzo say. “Or maybe a parade. The Gator Bowl, perhaps.”

Picture Group / Stipple
Kelly Rowland in Georges Chakra Couture: “It looks like someone didn’t want all the attention to go to Miss Bey
this month!” (We may have had the same thought). “This is a ‘BAM!’ dress; totally head-turning, graphically interesting, and sexy, sexy, sexy.”

And the dress that fell totally flat for the two of them?

Picture Group / Stipple
Adele in Valentino: “Oh, honey. No. Whoever talked you into this is not your friend, dear. Especially if they recommended the matchy shoes too.”

Beyoncé, Taylor Swift and More Wear Gorgeous Jewelry From Very Special Designers: Pediatric Cancer Patients

Beyonce jewelry Courtesy Lorraine Schwartz; Paul Morigi

We’ve long admired Lorraine Schwartz’s beautiful jewelry, spotted on stars including Beyoncé, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus. But the pieces these four celebs most recently sported have us dazzled for reasons beyond carats: Schwartz created them with help from pediatric patients at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C.

To honor her late mother, who died of lung cancer, Schwartz partnered with Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation to teach the patients, ages six to 15, how to create jewelry. They then designed pieces inspired by their favorite celebrities as a form of art therapy.

“One of the most memorable times for our family was when my mother made jewelry during her treatments,” Schwartz says. “It was so therapeutic for all of us. We still have those pieces and cherish them.”

And Schwartz had a big surprise in store for her students: Their creations would actually be worn by the A-list star for whom they had designed their jewelry.

Beyoncé (above) posed in the bright, flower-inspired gems created for her by Jozlyn, 12, which prominently feature the color blue for Beyoncé’s daughter Blue Ivy. “There was a lot of thought put into that,” Schwartz tells PEOPLE. “Beyoncé couldn’t have been more touched.” She adds that Jozlyn is “obsessed” with the superstar, saying “She’s the biggest star in the world to her … and [Jozlyn] was beyond excited to find out she wore her jewelry.”

Read more about the children who created jewels for Swift, Perry and Cyrus, as well as how to be a part of Schwartz’s inspiring initiative, below:

Taylor Swift jewelry Paul Morigi; Inset: Jeff Vespa/WireImage

The champagne diamond-and-amethyst bracelet Taylor Swift wore to the Grammys was created by Jaimin, a young patient who already had a passion for jewelry design. “Jaimin started making jewelry before he got sick,” Schwartz tells PEOPLE. “He came prepared with all the jewelry making tools.” And he was especially excited to design for Swift, whom his mom says he listens to constantly. “He wanted diamonds to sparkle because Taylor sparkles,” Schwartz says of Jaimin’s inspiration — and shares that haute N.Y.C. department store Bergdorf Goodman is already requesting “the Jaimin bracelets,” not realizing that he’s just a kid!

Katy Perry jewelry Paul Morigi; Inset: Jeff Vespa/WireImage

Eight-year-old Arabelle, who just finished her cancer treatment, designed a flower ring for Katy Perry, which the star wore to a Grammys afterparty. “[Arabelle] made a flower and a butterfly, because she thinks of [Perry] that way,” Schwartz says, adding that Perry’s song “Firework” has a special meaning to the young patient: “She performed [the song] after she finished chemo.”

Miley Cyrus jewelry Paul Morigi; Splash News Online

In honor of her sister who passed away last year from liver cancer, Sammi created a bracelet and earrings set for Miley Cyrus comprised of black spinel and green garnet. “Miley wore [the bracelet] at Clive [Davis]‘s party and she was beyond,” Schwartz says. The matching earrings are already on sale at Charitybuzz, and 100% of the proceeds will fund a grant to provide jewelry and art therapy programs at Children’s National Medical Center. For more information about Schwartz’s project, visit the Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation website.

Adele Oscars 2013 Performance

It isn’t proper diva etiquette to admit that you’re inspired by other singing superstars — but Adele is no ordinary diva.

Before hitting the stage to perform “Skyfall,” her Oscar-winning James Bond theme, the British singer dished to ABC’s pre-show that her performance look made her feel “like Beyoncé.”

It wasn’t the Burberry dress itself that reminded her so much of the fellow new mom, though. It was because the crystal-embroidered silk dress was so heavy (“15 kilos!” she joked) that it was hard to perform in.

RELATED PHOTOS: The Best Dressed List

Oscar rehearsals made Adele question how Beyoncé sings and dances in her heavily embellished performance numbers. “I take a breath to do a big note,” she said, illustrating with a huge gasp. “It’s a bit difficult!”

But from her flawless, modern hair (a switch-up from the ’60s inspired do she wore on the red carpet) to her big, belting performance, we bet Beyoncé was at home taking some notes herself. Tell us: What did you think of Adele’s performance? Did you prefer her red carpet hair or her performance look?
